Do you know someone who has been providing amazing levels of care or gone above and beyond the call of duty in their job?

Here on the Social Care News blog we know the care and support sector is teeming with committed individuals dedicated to improving the quality of care and support for the more vulnerable members of society. We just want the rest of society to acknowledge and celebrate the fact!

In his latest blog, Director General for Social Care, Jon Rouse explains why he believes the New Year Honours list is one of the most powerful and visible ways to achieve this level of recognition. He also expresses his and Permanent Secretary Una O'Brien's desire to see representation broaden to include more nominations for women, young people, volunteers and people from black and ethnic minorities.

The only way to make sure all parts of the health and care sector are represented is to get nominating. 31 March 2014 is the deadline, so get thinking about the great and the good in your part of the sector.
